“Sholokhov Spring – 2011”
15.03.2011On May, 27-28, 2011, in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, an All-Russian literary and folklore holiday “Sholokhov Spring” is going to be held in celebration of the 106th anniversary of M.A. Sholokhov.
This year the holiday gathering the admirers of Sholokhov’s work and lovers of Cossack folklore from different parts of Russia and foreign countries will keep its traditions.
On Friday, May, 27, young actors of the “Vyoshenskiye Vesnushki” will perform on the stage grounds, in the evening a gala-concert of masters of art and amateur groups will take place in the Palace of Culture. On May, 28, from early morning till late at night folk songs will be heard on the stanitsa’s square, the improvised Cossack houses will receive and treat guests with viands and drinks, and everyone will be able to buy a keepsake souvenir. The holiday will end in theatrical performance on the main stage by the River Don, followed by a firework.
Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya will follow the capital of Russia: in Moscow the birthday of M.A. Sholokhov will be celebrated on May, 21, by the writer’s monument in Volzhskiy Boulevard.
