FITUR – 2011

26.01.2011

The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the International tourist exhibition “FITUR – 2011”, which was held in Madrid on January, 19-23.

The opening ceremony of this grand and important tourist event was joined by the Queen of Spain, Sofia. Greeting the participants she noted a great importance of tourism for consolidating the mutual understanding between representatives of different countries and for solving topical problems of global economics.

The exhibition was joined by 10500 companies from 166 countries and regions of the world. The stand of the Museum-Reserve of M.A. Sholokhov was represented as a constituent part of the national exposition of the Russian Federation.

The visitors were attracted by various tourist programs offering the opportunities of rest for adults and children on the Upper Don, visiting the places connected with the name of the Nobel Prize Winner Mikhail Sholokhov. The foreign tourists especially enjoyed the youth programs including interactive games and creative workshops in the “School of Arts and Crafts”.

Within the exhibition time the Museum workers had talks and concluded a number of agreements about cooperation with the tour operators of different countries.

The “FITUR – 2011” was visited by more than 120 thousand people. Participation in the exhibitions of such kind encourages the Museum of M.A. Sholokhov for making the country of the “Quiet Don” the most popular tourist attraction site for the foreigners.
