Devoted to Sholokhov and the Victory

In the festival opening ceremony the floor was taken by the head of the Sholokhov District O.N. Delnov, the deputy head of the Rostov Region Administration on land use and ecology S.G. Kurdyumov. From the stage there were read the greeting telegrams to the festival participants from the RF Ministry of Culture A.A. Avdeyev, from the plenipotentiary representative of the RF President in the South Federal District V.V. Ustinov, from the prefect of the Moscow South-East District V.B. Zotov.
Following it the members of the official delegation were invited to the “People’s House” of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve for the opening ceremony of the exhibition “The Time of Victories”. The ceremony red ribbon was cut by S.G. Kurdyumov, S.I. Vasiliyeva and the director of the Museum A.M. Sholokhov.
In the concert hall there was a presentation accompanied by documental film stills depicting the main events of the two decades – from 1941 till 1961. The marble stairs decorated with the newspaper fragments of the passed years led the guests into the exposition halls.
As the guests entered the first hall, the ceiling went casting shadows of the German fascist aircrafts, there came a noise of a battle, sounds of howling and explosions of the aircraft bombs thrown down. The voice of the Commissar of the USSR Foreign Affairs V.M. Molotov broke the news to the listeners about the war begun. So, the subject was set, and the guide began speaking about the exposition of the hall devoted to the Great Patriotic war. There are photos of the war years, documents of the district administrative bodies written on the sheets of an ordinary account book, model armament of those years. There is an original installation in the form of two Red Army machine-gun nests, which a viewer sees allegedly with his own eyes, through a house window.
One of the monitors displays the lists of 13 000 warriors recruited to the front from Vyoshenskaya district, the other informs about the war participants who live in the Sholokhov District now: photos, a talk about the war experience, a list of rewards.
The second hall exposition is devoted to the postwar years. It is full of posters calling for reconstruction of the ruined economy, it has a lot of everyday life objects, furniture, attributes from the school life of the postwar 40-s – 50-s. Here one can see, how the process of reconstruction in our country was going on.
The apotheosis of the period was the unprecedented first flight into space of an Earth citizen Y.A. Gagarin. This event is told about by photographs and a unique exhibit – a hatchway cover of the spaceship “Vostok”. This object for the first time left the Under Moscow NPO “Energhiya” to become an exhibit in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.
After the exhibition opening ceremony the members of the official delegation of the holiday put flowers to the bust of M.A. Sholokhov at the Don embankment and to the tomb of the writer.
