The Best Film Cossack Woman

August, 15, is a jubilee of the People’s Actress of the RSFSR Lyudmila Ivanovna Khityaeva, who is known to be the best film Cossack woman. The actress visited Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya many times, where she is loved,  appreciated, admired for her talent and beauty, and the people are glad to see and expect her.

She graduated from the Gorkiy Theatre School and participated in more than fifty films, including “The Quiet Don” and “Virgin Soil Upturned”, screened after the novels by M.A. Sholokhov. On appearing the two pictures on the screen Khityaeva made one of the most popular actresses of the world cinematograph. She was one of the few actresses in our cinema to succeed in embodying an image of a real Don Cossack woman.

The actress admitted that her favourite role was Sholokhov’s Dariya.

When speaking with the residents of Vyoshenskaya she said:

-   As soon as I stepped on this land and saw you, I realized at once, that only such an environment could give the world that great artist and man of letter… Dariya and Lushka walk on this ground. I am quite happy to be your contemporary and a contemporary of our Sholokhov.
