“Sholokhov Spring” in Karghinskaya

21.05.2010

The folk holiday which took place in Karghinskaya in the morning of May, 21, became the first page of the all-Russia Literary and Folklore festival of “Sholokhov Spring”. And this page was bright and impressive. Even a sudden shower did not hinder the residents of  Karghinskaya in celebrating the 105th anniversary of M.A. Sholokhov.

The festivity began in the square, where the head of the local administration Tatiyana Sergheyevna Denisova and the folks’ old friend, a personal acquaintance of M.A. Sholokhov, the war veteran, adviser of the West-Kazakhstan Region akim Bisen Zhumagaliyevich Zhumagaliyev spoke to the countrymen of the great writer.

Here, in the land of Karghinskaya, the great classic started his way to the big literature. The words about him, young and daring, to join the circle of the best masters, became the burden of the speeches.

The folk group “The Free Don” from Stanitsa Bokovskaya performed ancient Cossack songs. Yet, the rain interrupted the festivity for some minutes: the audience was invited into the hall of the stanitsa’s House of Culture, and the people very quickly took their seats. The holiday concert went on.

The performance of the Kazakhstan guests – the Honoured actress of the Republic Zh. Rakhmetova and the well-known dance group “Nezerke” were warmly greeted. The concert was joined by the amateur performers from Karghinskaya, Bokovskaya and nearby villages – Dulyonkov, Popov, Bolshenapolovskiy.

The house stormily applauded to the young singers of the “Solnyshko” group, who performed the songs “Mamunyushka” (“My Sweet Mummy”), “There Grows a Tree in the Garden”, of the group “Kazachata” (“Little Cossacks”) (“Ah, Don Cossacks”, “There was a Birchtree in the Field”) from the Popov nursery school, as well as to Kseniya Groshina, who recited artistically an abstract from the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”, which she had successfully recited at the Moscow Festival of “Sholokhov Spring-2010”.

The concert was ended with a brilliant performance of the People’s folk Cossack group “Zarnitsa” of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The audience kept applauding stormily to their favourite actors. The leader of the group Valentina Ivanovna Koshkina congratulated the residents of Karghinskaya for the 25th jubilee “Sholokhov Spring”, wished a success and new meetings.
