The Geography of “The Sholokhov Source” Broadens

The first round of the XI International Rally of the Children and Youth Ecological movement “The Shololkhov Sourse” has passed. The young literaries and ecologists from the Rostov, Voronezh, Volgograd and Moscow regions, Kazakhstan, Byelorus, Ukrain introduced for the contest 42 research papers devoted to the creative work of the writer, the Cossack everyday life, the history and natural traits of the native places.

Very interesting and sapid were the works of Ekaterina Malyutina from the Krasnodar Region, Artyom Sinkovskiy from the Stavropol Region, Elizaveta Apranich, Alexandra Dontsova and Veronika Karpovich from Minsk. They were marked with diplomas and presents, and were entitled to take part in the second round of the XI rally.

12 teams from the Sholokhov, Verkhnedonskoy, Kashari Districts of the Rostov Region, Rostov-on-Don and Boguchar of the Voronezh Region gathered in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. They were greeted by the head of the Sholokhov District O.N. Delnov and the director of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve A.M. Sholokhov. The captains of the teams accompanied by the hymn of “The Sholokhov Source” raised the flag of the movement and the banners of the participants’ regions.

Following it the children made their engrossing talks, competed in the ecological relay, answered the questions of the quiz game, joined in the sport competitions. Each school delegation displayed a photo exhibition “An Unbiased Look at the Nature”, “Look Back, Man, This is What You Do”, “My Clean Homeland”.

With love and pride the participants narrated about their native land. The presentations of the Kruzhilinskaya school of the Sholokhov District, the school of the Verkhnedonskoy District and the boarding school of Boguchar were proved the best.

The competitive spirit and will to victory reigned at the rally “The Sholokhov Source”. The first place in the I round was won by the team “Ekosha” (the Kiev school of the Kashari District), the second place – by the “Nakhalyata” (the Verkhnedonskaya school of the Verkhnedonskoy District), the third place – by “Nim” (the Kolundayevskaya school of the Sholokhov District).

The winners – the Kashari team – were entitled to participate in the II round of the XI International Rally of the Children and Youth movement “The Sholokhov Source”, which is going to take place in the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve on June, 23-25, 2010.
