XI International Scientific-Practical Conference “M.A. Sholokhov in the Contemporary World”

The workers of the State M.A. Sholokhov  Museum-Reserve took part in the work of the XI International Scientific-Practical conference “M.A. Sholokhov in the Contemporary World”, which took place on May, 13-15, in the Moscow State Humanitarian University named after M.A. Sholokhov. It was organized by the Sholokhov Centre and Philological Faculty of the University.

The conference was participated by the researchers of Sholokhov’s works, philology students, research students. The research in the creative work of M.A. Sholokhov was presented in the talks from 14 regions of Russia, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland, the USA.

During the first two days plenary sessions were held, at one of them the deputy director, general curator of the M.A. Sholokhov Museum Lyudmila Petrovna Razogreyeva gave a talk. Besides, Lyudmila Petrovna took part in the work of the scientific seminar “The Novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” by M.A. Sholokhov in the “Sholokhov Encyclopaedia”.

On the final, third day, section seminars were held. At the section of literary criticism the Museum research worker Alexander Nikolayevich Gavrilov presented his talk “Bukanovskiy Ataman (new facts from the biography of P.Y. Gromoslavskiy)” and at the section of linguistics a junior research worker Lyudmila Petrovna Kochetova made  a talk “Indirect Expressive Acts in the Speech of M.A. Sholokhov’s Personages”.

The conference became an important stage in the study of the literary heritage of the Don great writer. It joined the Sholokhov researchers from the World Literature Institute named after M. Gorkiy, the Russian  Language Institute named after V.V. Vinogradov, the South Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Sholokhov Centre of the Moscow State Humanitarian University named after M.A. Sholokhov, the South Federal University, the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, which are going to hold further scientific-practical seminars on the study in the works of M.A. Sholokhov.
