The Conference “Museum-Reserve: Ecology and Culture”

Today, on September, 24, in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, on the base of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve the IV International Scientific-Practical conference “Museum-Reserve: Ecology and Culture” has set out. It is joined by the specialists of the museum-reserves, national parks and other scientific institutions and offices engaged in research and complex protection of the cultural and national heritage. The forum organizers are: the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, Committee on the Environment Protection and Natural Resources of the Rostov Region Administration, the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage named after D.S. Likhachov.

The conference was opened by the director of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve A.M. Sholokhov. The forum participants were greeted by the deputy director of the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage named after D.S. Likhachov A.V. Eremeyev, the chief of the Environment Protection Office of the Committee on the Environment Protection  and Natural Resources of the Rostov Region Administration M.V. Parashchenko, the head of the Sholokhov District O.N. Delnov.

The session was held simultaneously in two halls of the People’s House of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve.

At one of the sections there were discussed the subjects of museumfication and preserving the sites of the historic and cultural heritage, environmental monitoring on the ground of the museum-reserves, national parks and other cherished territories, the problems of ecological education as well as the prospects of development of the cultural-ecological and ethnographic tourism. The talks were given by the scientific deputy director of the State Military-Historical Museum-Reserve A.V. Gorbunov, Doctor of Geographic Sciences, the chief of the Tourism Chair of the South Federal University O.V. Ivliyeva, the chief of the department of the Historic and Cultural Area Protection of the Pushkin Reserve A.A. Stepanov, a senior research worker of the A.S. Pushkin Museum-Reserve “Mikhailovskoye” D.V. Ivanova, the deputy director of the N.A. Nekrasov Museum-Reserve “Karabikha” M.N. Danilova and scientific workers N.Y. Erofeyeva and L.A. Belkova, the workers of the Museum-Reserve “Tsaritsyno” I.N. Bazhenov, M.A. Blagovidova, L.A. Inozemtseva, teachers of the Boguchar boarding school V.I. Chervonnyi and T.Y. Kravtsova, the chief of the tourism department of the Ust-Medveditsa natural park of the Volgograd Region and other conference participants.

The other, “round-table” session joined biologists to discuss the questions of keeping The Red List of Threatening Species. The Discussion was participated by the scientists of the South Federal University A.N. Shmarayeva, V.A. Ponomarenko, candidates of Biological Sciences V.V. Fedyaeva, V.G. Parshin and V.A. Rusanov, the scientific deputy director of the reserve “Rostovskiy” A.D. Lipkovich, a senior scientific worker of the South Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a candidate of Biological Sciences Y.G. Arzano, specialists of the environment protection of the Taganrog Administration G.A. Tkachova and T.V. Popova, the director of the natural park “Nizhnekhopyorskiy”.

The forum issued in adopting a resolution framing the main steps in solving the problems of museumfication and preserving the structures of the historic and cultural heritage of Russia.

The guests visited the structures of the Museum-Reserve, participated in the holiday devoted to the 35th anniversary of screening the film “They Fought for Their Country”.

The next day program was participation in the literary and ethnographic holiday “Autumn in Kruzhilin”.
