Competition of Young Connoisseurs

27.11.2009

On November, 27, 2009 at the “People’s House” of the State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve there was held a contest of young connoisseurs “Return to Us, Our Memory, a Little of the Past…”, joined by the schoolchildren of the Sholokhov District. The boys and girls competed in knowing the history of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya in the 1950-1960-s of the past century.

Having observed the museum exposition and video-materials prepared by the museum workers the children learned what Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya looked like in the past years. Listening to the guide, examining the exhibits, the schoolchildren did their assignments: they inserted in the text the missing words, put them in a proper order, found at the exhibition the objects marked.

Each schoolchild prepared his homework on either subject: “What the Thing Can Tell About” and “Look into Your Granny’s Trunk”. Using objects of material and spiritual culture referring to the 1950-1960-s, the young historians made their talks about their homeland – the land of Sholokhov. In the “Granny’s Trunks” they found roofing material – tiles, pottery, a school bag containing school things, a physical and technical club album, pioneers’ badges and a lot of other things. A particular interest was aroused by the show of clothes of those years.  Besides, the children were delighted by the jolly tune of the “Pionerskaya Zorka” resounded in the “People’s  House”.

Plunging into the years of the 50-60-s the boys and girls found themselves involved in the process of cognition of the most opulent heritage of the native land.

According to the contest results the connoisseurs ranked as follows: the winners were the boys from Andropovskaya school who gained the greatest number of points, the second were the team from Bazkovskaya school who gained only half a point less. The third place was won by the connoisseurs from the Sholokhov school of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.

The workers of the Museum-Reserve sincerely thank the teachers and schoolchildren who took part in the contest, for their significant searching work.
