NewsThe Conference in Budapest26.09.2009The State M.A. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the work of the International Conference of Literary Museums which was held on September, 21-23, 2009, in Budapest. The subject of the conference was “Travellings of Writers – the Travelling Writers. How Can the Museums Use It?” The problems discussed at the forum are topical for the Museum of M.A. Sholokhov, because Mikhail Alexandrovich was fond of travelling and visited many countries of the world. He made his first trip abroad in 1930 to Italy and Germany, later in different years he visited Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, England, France, Poland, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Great Britain, the USA, Japan, Hungary. Each trip abroad gave the writer a possibility of better learning the culture, history, traditions of different countries, as well as meeting with interesting people. The conference allowed to discuss a possibility of collaboration between the museum-workers from different parts of the world, where the writer’s itineraries went through. Besides, within the cultural program the forum participants visited the Literary Museum of Shandor Petöfi, the Museum of Ferentz Lizst, travelled to Lake Balaton, learned about the work of the Parliament of the Hungarian Republic.
