NewsThe Residents of Vyoshenskaya Remember Vasiliy Shukshin27.07.2009On July, 25, 2009, Vasiliy Makarovich Shukshin would have been 80. His acting destiny arose so that he began and finished his cinema activity in the films screened after the works of M.A. Sholokhov. In the film “The Quiet Don” by Gherasimov he performed for the first time in a small role of a Red Guard sailor, and the last work of his was the part of Lopakhin in the film “They Fought for Their Country” by the film director S. Bondarchuk. Whether it was a chance or destiny foresight, but the spiritual connection of Shukshin and Sholokhov is quite obvious. This is confirmed by the words, full of admiration, said by V.M. Shukshin after the meeting with M.A. Sholokhov in Vyoshenskaya in 1974. In his last interview Vasiliy Makarovich said about the classic of the Russian literature: “How do I see him after our talk? Profound, wise, homely. For me Sholokhov is an embodied annalist… Sholokhov suggested me not by words, but by his presence in Vyoshenskaya and in literature, that you can’t hurry, see after records in art, you should look for silence and quietness for you to be able to muse and comprehend deeply the people’s fate”. This is a position of a patriot, and it is completely realized. Sholokhov also warmly spoke about Shukshin like about a spiritually close person. He said about his last role in the film “They Fought for Their Country”: “Vasiliy Shukshin is very good in the film… I am very sorry for him… He could do much more”. There is no need to repeat that Shukshin is loved on the Don, but in Vyoshenskaya he is especially loved. The residents of Vyoshenskaya and all the Sholokhov District with a kind heart observed the 80th birthday anniversary of Vasiliy Makarovich Shukshin – actor, film director and writer. A. Kochetov |
