Petersburg Dolls in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya

09.12.2020

On December 8, the opening of the exhibition “Petersburg dolls. Theatrical sketches” from the Museum of Dolls of St. Petersburg was held in the “People's House” in the stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. The dolls are made by students of stage costume technologists.

At the presentation of the exhibition in an interesting game format, visitors learned the history of the creation of dolls in different countries and answered the questions of an exciting quiz. The director of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Olga Anistratenko said warm words of welcome.

Then the visitors went down to the exhibition halls and plunged into the magical atmosphere of the theatrical life of St. Petersburg in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Visitors admired the stage costumes for the performances of opera and ballet, with great skill made by the future stage costume designers. The models showcasing the magnificent costumes are dolls displayed in glass windows.

Visitors also got acquainted with sketches of theatrical costumes by famous artists K. Korovin and A. Golovin. They are masters of one era, the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, the heyday of Russian theater, including puppet theater.

The tour of the exhibition was met with great attention and resonated in the hearts of visitors.

Exhibition “Petersburg dolls. Theatrical sketches” will continue its work until March 21, 2021. We invite everyone to enjoy the true skill of creating a stage costume.
