"My Sholokhov" by Karp Pashinian

On December 11, 2020 the opening of the photo exhibition "My Sholokhov" by the artist-photographer of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Karp Pashinyan will be held at the excursion and exhibition center "People’s House". 

On November 1, 2020, Karp Pashinyan, a gifted photo artist, historian of photography, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, member of the Union of Journalists and the Union of Designers of Russia, turned 70. He was born in 1950 in Kislovodsk, graduated from the Biological Faculty (1973) and postgraduate studies (1979) at Rostov State University. Since 1979 he worked as a correspondent for the regional youth newspaper "Komsomolets". Since 1983, he taught a course in art photography and the history of world culture at the Rostov Art School named after M. Grekov. In 2008, Karp Pashinyan became an employee of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. In the same year his exhibition "Wings over the Don" took place in the stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. The second "Time and Things" was held in 2010, the third "Genius of Place" - in 2016. 

"My Sholokhov" is the name of the new exhibition of the photo artist. At it he will present black and white photographs and glass negatives depicting the great writer, as well as color portraits of members of his family: children Svetlana, Mikhail and Maria, daughter-in-law Valentina and grandson Alexander. 

The exhibition is filled up by photographs depicting the beauty of the nature of the Vyoshenskaya land and the objects of the museum. 

The photo exhibition "My Sholokhov" will run at the “People's House” till February 24, 2021.
