NewsThe Photo Exhibition “Daisaku Ikeda. Dialogue With Nature” Will be Open in Tula04.12.2020On December 8, 2020 the photo exhibition “Daisaku Ikeda. Dialogue with nature”, organized by the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve will be open in the Tula Regional Scientific Library. Daisaku Ikeda is a prominent writer, publicist, member of the Austrian Society of Artists, honorary member of the Singapore Society of Photographers and winner of the UN Peace Prize. In 1974, within the framework of his first visit to the USSR, he turned to the host side with a single but urgent request - "to facilitate a meeting with Sholokhov." The meeting took place, which became a landmark event in his life. “Your words and your voice have more and more clearly manifested in my soul over the years, as an invaluable gift I received from life”, - Ikeda wrote in his essay about Mikhail Sholokhov. In his travels around the world, he tried to capture the fleeting beauty of nature with the help of a camera. “I have to take pictures whenever and wherever there is such an opportunity - from the window of a car or an airplane during a move, in between official events. But the daily workload still does not overshadow the beauty of this world - no matter how mysterious, but it is everywhere”, - Ikeda noted. In 1982, at the suggestion of professional photographers, the first exhibition of his photographs "Dialogue with Nature" was held in Japan. Since then, it has traveled to more than 140 cities in 40 countries of the world, including France, Sweden, Austria, Russia, China, USA, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Australia and others. At the end of 2019, the exhibition was exhibited at the “Sholokhov Center” in Rostov-on-Don, and since February 2020 – in the stanitsa Karginskaya. The next point of this exhibition's travel across countries and continents will be the Tula Regional Scientific Library, one of the oldest libraries in Russia, founded in 1833. At present, the volume of its funds is about 2 million storage units: printed publications (books, periodicals, normative and technical documentation, sheet music), as well as documents on digital media. It is a modern scientific, cultural and educational institution that provides its readers with a variety of information services provided by new technologies. Photo exhibition “Daisaku Ikeda. Dialogue with Nature” will work in the Tula Regional Scientific Library until January 18, 2021.
