NewsEmployees of the Museum-Reserve Walked “By the Cossacks’ Roads” in Stavropol Territoty30.11.2020The staff of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the All-Russian exhibition of tourist routes "By the Cossacks' Roads", organized by the Federal Agency for Tourism. The event took place on November 26-28 in the resort town of Zheleznovodsk, Stavropol Territory. It was devoted to the formation, development and promotion of cultural and educational routes associated with the history of the original Cossack culture. Within the framework of the exhibition, on November 27, a round table was held on the topic "Unique culture of the Cossacks as a driver of tourism development”. The event was moderated by Valeria Sholokhova, Deputy Director of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. Alexander Sholokhov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Culture of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. The round table was attended by representatives of the authorities, Cossack societies, Cossack cadet corps, the scientific community and public organizations, experts in the field of tourism and interethnic relations from the Rostov region, Stavropol, Moscow. Representatives of the Rostov region, besides the staff of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, were: Director of the Razdorsk Ethnographic Museum-Reserve M. Merzlyakov, director of the ethno-complex “Kumzha” O. Nikolaev, head of the tourism development department of the Administration of the Azov city, OSIG ambassador in the Southern Federal District O. Nomachevoy, director of the excursion and tourist company "Alliance-Tour" in Novocherkassk O. Zakharova, expert and guide of Taganrog I. Pashchenko. Yana Korobova, head of the excursion department of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, presented a report on the topic: "Sholokhov region is the land of the Don Cossacks". It reflects the main tourist routes and forms of the Museum's work to preserve and popularize the history, original culture and traditions of the Don Cossacks, which was the main character of Mikhail Sholokhov’s works. A special response and interest of the audience has been aroused by bright and various events, each of which presents a story about life values, traditions and life of the Cossacks in its various manifestations. Based on the results of the round table, the participants decided to create an interregional tourist product, telling about the history of the Cossacks of various regions of our country. We are grateful to the organizers and participants of the All-Russian Exhibition of Tourist Routes "By the Cossacks' Roads" for their initiative and an excellent platform for developing cooperation to preserve and popularize the Cossack culture.
