Colobaration During the Period of Closed Borders

27.07.2020

On July 25, 2020, a round table was held in the format of an online conference between the staff of the Sholokhov museum-reserve and the organizers of the exhibition of works by the Japanese writer, photo artist, philosopher Daisaku Ikeda. The Zoom conference is a continuation of the friendship that developed 46 years ago between an outstanding Russian writer and a prominent Japanese figure.

Those present were greeted by the writer's grandson, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Culture of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, President of ICOM Russia Alexander Sholokhov, Director of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Olga Anistratenko and Director of the Department of International Relations of the Japanese Society Soka Gakkai Mr. Midzusima.

The conference participants remembered the success with which the exhibition of photographs "Dialogue with Nature", organized in late 2019 - early 2020, was held at the Sholokhov Center in Rostov-on-Don, and then at the mill complex in the stanitsa Karginskaya, once again admired the beauty of nature captured by the photographer, outlined plans for future joint projects.

In the spring of 2020, the exhibition of the Sholokhov museum-reserve was awaited with enthusiasm in Japan. But, unfortunately, it was not destined to take place due to the global epidemiological situation. At today's meeting, the parties expressed a desire to implement these ideas next year and wished each other good health and a speedy return to their usual living and working conditions.
