NewsCreative Seminar of Directors of Russian Literary Museums to be Held in the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve22.07.2020From July 30 to August 1, 2020, the Sholokhov museum-reserve will become a platform for the XXXVI session of the Creative Problem Seminar of Directors of the Russian Literary Museums. A creative seminar of directors of the Russian literary museums has existed since 1984. It was organized on the initiative of Natalya Shahalova (1924-2006), director of the State Literary Museum, Honored Worker of Culture of Russia. Seminar sessions are held annually in one of the literary museums in Russia. In addition to the directors, the seminars are attended by leading research workers, artists-designers, architects, scientists, heads of regional and local cultural bodies. For more than thirty years of history, heads of foreign literary museums have taken part in a number of seminars. The leading theme of the XXXVI session of the seminar is "Social, cultural, educational and scientific functions of a modern museum: relationships and priorities". The modern literary museum is a unique social institution that simultaneously combines many functions. The ratio of the accessibility and safety of the museum space, the specifics of scientific and educational activities in modern conditions, the role of IT technologies in museum work - these and other issues will be the subject of discussion by the participants of the seminar. The object “Estate of Mikhail Sholokhov” after the restoration work will also become an important topic of discussion. The grand opening of the seminar will take place on July 30 at the excursion and exhibition center "People’s House" (stanitsa Vyoshenskaya). The participants of the seminar will visit the parental estate of Mikhail Sholokhov (farm Kruzhilinsky), at the objects of the Karginsky memorial and historical museum complex, they will visit the museum stables and natural attractions of the Sholokhov region. Plenary sessions will be held at these facilities. On the final day of the session, the seminar will move to the "Sholokhov-Center" in Rostov-on-Don, where a round table "Inter-museum interaction" and a summary of the results of the Seminar will be held.
