NewsExhibition "The Study and the World of the Writer" Opened in the Homeland of Ivan Goncharov15.07.2020The unique traveling exhibition "The Study and the World of the Writer" began work on July 14, 2020 at the Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after Ivan Goncharov. The curator of this inter-museum exhibition project, which is held under the auspices of the Association of Literary Museums of the Union of Russian Museums, is the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The writer's study is a special place in his house. This is his creative workshop, where literary works were created, here the author spent many hours thinking about the fate of his heroes, about the past, present and future of his homeland, about the correctness of the path he had chosen. More often than not, the furnishings in the study were not accidental. Every writer brought something here from his work, from the world he lived in and worked. In terms of the subjects in the study, one can assume what occupied his owner at that time, trace his intellectual interests. Photographer Karp Pashinyan, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, member of the Union of Journalists and the Union of Designers of Russia, made an attempt through the interior of the offices of the great Russian writers and poets who lived in different eras - from the 18th to the 20th centuries - to show the atmosphere that reigned in the house and disposed to creativity, to catch the connection of the creator with the world around him. The exhibition project began work in 2018. During its work, visitors to 15 museums of the Russian Federation could see it. In Ulyanovsk, next to the studies of Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Nikolay Nekrasov, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Leo Tolstoy, Anton Chekhov, Valery Bryusov, Anna Akhmatova, Boris Pasternak, Korney Chukovsky, Mikhail Prishvin, Mikhail Sholokhov will also show the study of the great writer Ivan Goncharov. The exposition displays the novelist's memorial things - an armchair from his Petersburg apartment on Mokhovaya, a coffee table that belonged to the writer. Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after Ivan Goncharov was founded in 1895 as a museum of the Simbirsk Scientific Archive Commission. Since 1918, it has been housed in one of the most beautiful buildings in the city - in the House - a monument to Ivan Goncharov, built in 1912-1916 by the project of the local architect Avghust Shode, funded by an All-Russian subscription. The building is located in the central part of the city, on Venets, and faces the Volga with its main facade. In Ulyanovsk, the exposition will work from July 14 to September 21, 2020. The exhibition will be an excellent opportunity for residents of the city and region not only to touch the world of great Russian writers, but also remotely in one place to see the expositions of the largest literary museums.
