Alexander Lapin in the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve

08.07.2020

On July 7, 2020, the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve was visited by Alexander Lapin, a writer, publicist, public figure, head of the Voronezh branch of the Russian Peace Fund, and Maxim Gorokhov, an editor-in-chief of Komsomolskaya Pravda in Voronezh.

A conversation took place between Aleksander Lapin and Aleksei Kochetov, a senior researcher of the development department, on the fate of Cossacks after the events of the Civil War and the Upper Don Uprising. Alexander Lapin shared the idea of ??creating a new work dedicated to the Cossacks in the twentieth century. Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya and nearby farms and villages, objects of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve are interesting for the writer as preserved evidence of historical events that had taken place on the Don. Don region keeps the centuries-old history of our ancestors, is a place of inspiration for many artists.

Most recently, Aleksandr Lapin was awarded the Mikhail Sholokhov commemorative medal, established by the Union of Writers of Russia. In total, 115 laureates were awarded this medal, including writers, editorial teams, philologists, museum workers, librarians, actors, public figures who made a significant contribution to the promotion of the writer's creative heritage and in defense of the Russian word.

We would like to wish our guests creative strength and inspiration, success, fruitful work!
