NewsExhibition of Works by Zurab Tsereli “Form and Color” Opened in “Sholokhov-Center”04.03.2020On March 2, 2020 the exhibition “Form and Color” of works by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Zurab Tsereteli opened in the "Sholokhov-Center" of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The exhibition features 40 works by the master, including a portrait of Mikhail Sholokhov, created in 1983. Most of the work is done in the technique of volume enamel. The exposition is complemented by sculptural works of small plastic from the series “Citizens”. Alexander Sholokhov, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Culture of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony. He noted the artist’s “incredibly vibrant love of life and completely unique performance”, which allow viewers to enjoy the variety of his works. “This exhibition, which, to a greater extent, is dedicated to his experiments with enamel, very well reflects the artist’s attitude to life. It is just as full, full of abundance. For many, Tsereteli opens up in ways that they don’t know,” added Alexander Sholokhov. The Russian Academy of Arts was presented by the chairman of the Southern Regional Branch of the Academy, sculptor Sergey Oleshnya. He also noted the special atmosphere of the exhibition, its cheerfulness: "Today is a celebration of flaire, a celebration of culture, a celebration of color, a celebration of great art." “This exhibition is to match today's spring sunny weather with its optimism and life affirmation, because the main image of Zurab Tsereteli’s work is the triumph of the human spirit,” – with this words the director of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Olga Anistratenko opened the exhibition. The exhibition "Form and Color" will work at the "Sholokhov-Center" from March 2 to April 12, 2020. As part of the exhibition lectures will be devoted to the history of sculpture and contemporary art.
