Memory Day of Mikhail Sholokhov in Kazakhstan

February 21, 2020 at the Sholokhov Memorial Museum in the village of Darinsky, West Kazakhstan region, a literary and musical evening was held in memory of the great writer.

From the stage for students of schools, teachers, librarians, representatives of public associations and the administration, excerpts from the works of Mikhail Sholokhov, songs and poems that he loved, memories of this amazing man sounded.

The evening was organized with the support of the Consulate General of Russia and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uralsk. Vice-Consul of the Consulate General of Russia, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Kazakhstan in Uralsk Vladimir Volkov thanked the audience for the sincerity of the event, for the memory of the great Russian writer M. Sholokhov stored in the Urals.

Mikhail Sholokhov with all his heart fell in love with Western Kazakhstan, having met him during the Great Patriotic War, when the writer's family was evacuated here. There, Mikhail Alexandrovich had many friends, he often returned there with his relatives for hunting and fishing. It was in Kazakhstan in October 1965 that he learned that he had become a Nobel laureate.

Sholokhov Memorial Museum was discovered in the village of Daryinsky in September 1979 while he was still alive. It stores everything related to the stay of the Sholokhov family in Kazakhstan.
