NewsRound Table on Popularization of Work by Mikhail Sholokhov in Moscow24.01.2020January 23, 2020 in the Children's Library No. 128 of the city of Moscow - Cultural Center of Mikhail Sholokhov - an interdepartmental round table was held on the issues of popularizing the work of the great Don writer. Participants in the event were Advisor to the Moscow Mayor Vladimir Zotov, Head Deputy of the District Council of the Tekstilshchiki of the City of Moscow Innokenty Zenkov, Representative of the Rostov Citizenship “Donskaya Stanitsa” Dmitry Berezutsky, employees of the Moscow Cossack Cadet Corps, Moscow State Humanitarian University named after Sholokhov. The round table was opened by Sergey Chuev, General Director of the Moscow Central Public Library Institution “Centralized Library System of the South-Eastern District”. He reminded the participants that in 2020 marks 115 years since the birth of Mikhail Sholokhov, and noted that this is a special date for library number 128, which is named after the writer. Therefore, lectures, competitions, lessons, exhibitions and many other events dedicated to the works by Mikhail Sholokhov and his fate will be held in the reading room all year. During the discussion, the participants talked how the literary heritage of Mikhail Sholokhov can be preserved in modern conditions, how it is possible to actualize the problems of the author’s works for schoolchildren and students. Head of the Library № 128 Anton Bredikhin told the audience about the plans of this organization to celebrate the anniversary of Mikhail Sholokhov. It should be noted that the venue of the round table was not chosen by chance. Children's Library No. 128 - the cultural center of M. A. Sholokhov is one of the oldest in Moscow. It was founded on May 21, 1936, and in August 2003 received the name of Mikhail Sholokhov. Today it is a modern center using new information technologies, where the most comfortable environment for spiritual improvement, creative development, additional education and intellectual leisure of children and adolescents has been created. The highlight of the library is the Native Origins Museum, opened as part of the Sholokhov Spring Festival on May 19, 2003. The literary department of the museum is dedicated to the life and work of the world famous Russian writer, Nobel laureate Mikhail Sholokhov. The museum offers individual and group tours, literary evenings and concerts. The library is developing in accordance with the strategy “The Great Son of the Don Land”, family celebrations, festivals and photo contests are held here together with partners: “Dove of Hope”, “My child is like that”, “Library Night”, “First-class reader”, “Summer reading rooms", "Old New Year in the Don Cossack traditions", Sholokhov spring -"There is no freer than Quiet Don", "A Cossack without a clan is not a Cossack!" and more.
