Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Takes Part in the Work of the All-Russian Children

03.12.2019

From November 23 to December 6, 2019, the Eco-Art environmental program has been held at All-Russian Children's Center “Smena” as part of the All-Russian School Forestry additional educational project. The event is organized by the V. Vernadsky, with which the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve has been actively cooperating for several years.

The work of the XVI shift was attended by the Deputy Director for Ecology and Environmental Management of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Taras Turchin. He addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, spoke about the life and work of Mikhail Sholokhov, the activities and environmental projects of the museum-reserve. Then there were lectures and discussions about the forest, during which the children learned about the theoretical foundations of the ten leading forest disciplines: soil science, botany, zoology, dendrology, etc. and the theoretical competition "Forest Decathlon". The knowledge gained during the conversation helped the children cope successfully with the tasks.

The next day, an interesting game “Fitomarathon” was held for the kids. Revealing the world of beautiful wildflowers and medicinal herbs, the game teaches students to see the beauty of nature, deepens students' environmental knowledge, fosters a sense of responsibility and love for nature. The guys were completely immersed in the game and with special excitement turned the wheel of the marathon, carefully examining and guessing the plant that fell in the game, as well as sharing their knowledge about its properties and features.

Such a non-standard way of studying botany, including using gymnastic tricks, arouses in boys and girls an interest in everything living, teaches them to take care of nature, its huge and very vulnerable world.

The event was attended by about 250 teenagers and teachers from different cities of the Russian Federation.
