National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Expands Cooperation with museums of the Country

Sholokhov Museum-Reserve signed bilateral Cooperation Agreements with two museums: The State Museum-Monument "St. Isaac's Cathedral" and the Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after Ivan Goncharov. The documents were signed in St. Petersburg on the sidelines of the VIII International Cultural Forum. Cooperation involves the implementation of joint partnership projects in the field of popularizing the achievements of culture and art, professional museum activities, the exchange of scientific information and experience, strengthening cultural ties between institutions, consolidating efforts in the formation of a common intellectual and information space.

The signed agreements are designed to develop joint exhibition, research, scientific and stock, educational, methodological work, publishing and advertising, museum tourism. The exchange of exhibitions and their joint holding, organization and holding of scientific conferences, seminars, joint expeditions, the development and implementation of inter-museum educational programs for children and youth, and other events are planned.

Director of the Museum-Reserve Olga Anistratenko noted that a cooperation scheme for long-term cooperation will be developed. She added that museums, within the framework of the agreement, also plan to organize and conduct internships, consultations, exchange the work of their employees, and explained that the Sholokhov Museum, for example, will benefit from the great experience of Ulyanovsk colleagues in attracting grant funds for large projects.

In mid-December, a unique exhibition “St. Isaac's Cathedral. Three centuries in the heart of St. Petersburg” will open at the Sholokhov-Center. It tells the story of one of the main symbols of the city on the Neva. And the first project to be implemented under the agreement of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve with the Ulyanovsk Regional Museum of Local Lore in 2020, will be a traveling exhibition "Ivan Goncharov and Simbirsk. " The basis of the exposition will be genuine illustrations for the works by Ivan Goncharov "Oblomov", "Cliff", "Ordinary History." This is the work of P. Pinkisevich, I. Glazunov, S. Shor from the collection of the Ulyanovsk Museum.
