Exhibition “The Study and the World of the Writer” on Don Land

On November 20, 2019 in Rostov-on-Don the opening of the unique traveling exhibition “The Study and the World of the Writer” took place in the Don State Public Library. The National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve is the curator of this inter-museum exhibition project, which takes place under the auspices of the Association of Literary Museums of the Union of Museums of Russia.

The exhibition project began its work in 2018. During this time, visitors of 14 museums in different regions of the country have seen it. The exhibition presents photographs by Karp Pashinyan, the Honored Cultural Profession of the Russian Federation, a member of the Union of Journalists and the Union of Designers of Russia, the photographer-consultant of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The photo artist through the interior of the study tells about the great Russian writers and poets who lived and worked from the eighteenth to the twentieth century - from G.R. Derzhavin to M.A. Sholokhov.

The exhibition was opened by the director of the Don State Public Library Evgenia Kolesnikova, who presented a photo exhibition and its author. Karp Pashinyan spoke about the work on the exhibition project and the places where this exhibition has already been exhibited. Head of the "Sholokhov-Center" Petr Sholokhov thanked the staff of the public library for fruitful cooperation and read out the welcoming address of the director of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve Olga Anistratenko.

The photo exhibition “The Study and the World of the Writer” will be located in the Don State Public Library until December 22, 2019, which will complete its work this year. In 2020, the project will continue its “journey” through the country's museums.
