Souvinirs of the Sholokhov Museum are the Finalists of the Competition “Tourist Souvenir - 2019”

04.11.2019

The souvenirs of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve have won prizes in the finals of the All-Russian competition “Tourism Souvenir - 2019”, which took place on October 31 - November 1 in the city of Saratov.

Among the numerous projects of tourist souvenirs announced for participation in the All-Russian competition “Tourist Souvenir” from 67 regions of the country, the products of the Sholokhov Museum were highly appreciated by a competent jury and took a leading position.

The souvenir “Sholokhov’s Russian dolls” took the first place in the nomination “Museum Souvenir”. The idea came from the souvenir dolls presented to Mikhail Sholokhov on the occasion of his 70th birthday by a team of Soviet writers. The set of Russian dolls symbolizing the Sholokhovs' family is a notable exhibit of the museum, presented at the central object - the Estate of the writer. The team of masters-artists of the department of applied art of the museum with warmth repeated this gift and invited visitors to purchase a souvenir that would remind of the great writer’s house.

The writing set "Oryolik" (“A Young Eagle”) has won the third place in the nomination "Souvenir of the city". This is a unique thing made by the creative union of the two organizations of LLC “Rostr” in Saransk and the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The souvenir is a presentable writing set, which includes the PARKER pen, similar to the one used by Mikhail Sholokhov, an eagle figurine made in the likeness of the Eagle sculpture located on the high bank of the Don River.

Participation in such a contest is undoubtedly inspiring. In the future, the museum team is ready to embody new ideas in the field of creating souvenir products, so that every tourist who visits the Sholokhov’s homeland, was able to take with him a unique souvenir, reminiscent of an exciting journey to the edge of the Quiet Don.
