NewsSholokhov Museum Presents the Exhibition "... Brothers, Don’t Judge Your Brother" on the Motherland of Sergey Yesenin09.10.2019On October 18, 2019 Sholokhov Museum-Reserve presents an exhibition from its funds “... Brothers, Don’t Judge Your Brother” in the State Yesenin Museum-Reserve in the village of Konstantinovo, Ryazan region. The exposition tells about the Upper Don rebellion, which took place 100 years ago, in 1919. The exposition contains genuine photographs of participants in those events, documents and materials of the parties involved in the rebel. The twentieth century was a period when events developed rapidly, the country's population did not always have time to comprehend them, understand and accept the changes that the revolution brought. When the new government established in Russia after 1917 decided that the Cossacks should be burned in the flame of the revolution, the response to harsh uncompromising measures was the Upper Don rebellion, which began in the spring of 1919. This tragic page in the history of the Don has long remained closed both to the descendants of the Cossacks who took part in the rebellion, and to the whole people. Mikhail Sholokhov was the first, who showed the whole tragedy of the event. He lived on the Don, saw with his own eyes that difficult situation that led to the uprising. Visitors of the exhibition find out how difficult the fate of the participants in those events was, in particular, Kharlampiy Ermakov and the leader of the uprising Pavel Kudinov. The exhibition project "... Brothers, Don’t Judge Your Brother ", in which the Rostov Regional Museum of Local History and the Novocherkassk Museum of the History of the Don Cossacks also took part, was successfully exhibited in the spring of 2019 at the Sholokhov-Center in Rostov-on-Don. In Konstantinovo, visitors will see a slightly reduced version of the exhibition. The museum-reserves of the two great people of Russia are connected by long-term friendship. The Sholokhov Museum hosted exhibitions from the Museum of Sergey Yesenin, both museums were presented in the exhibition projects “The Study and the World of the Writer” and “The Place of a Genius”. And the upcoming exhibition is another strong brick in the foundation of a long and lasting relationship between the museums. The exhibition "... Brothers, Don’t Judge Your Brother " will work in the State Yesenin Museum-Reserve in the village of Konstantinovo from October 18 to December 15, 2019.
