Opening of the Exhibition of the Sholokhov Museum-Reserve in Aksay

08.10.2019

On October 4, 2019, in the city of Aksay, the exhibition “The fate of a man - the fate of the people” from the funds of the National Sholokhov Museum-Reserve was opened in the museum complex "Postal station of the XIX century” of Aksay military-historical museum.

The exhibition tells the story of the creation of the short novel "The Fate of a Man", about the prototypes of the main character Andrei Sokolov, about the publications and the film adaptation of the short novel. Visitors will see the documentary “Story Pages” by Sergey Bondarchuk, which was shot immediately after the publication of the short novel in 1957. Some of the items of the Second World War time presented at the exhibition were provided by the Aksay Museum.

The first honorary guests at the exhibition were the wards of the Aksay district center of social services. They met with interest the story of the short novel, discussed the work of Mikhail Sholokhov, shared memories of the first viewing of the film by Sergey Bondarchuk.

The exhibition will work in the Aksay Museum until December 1, 2019. We invite you to visit it and once again recall the immortal lines of the Mikhail Sholokhov’s short novel.
