“Night of Cinema” will be Held in Sholokhov Museum

On August 24, and on the Day of Russian Cinema, August 27, the annual All-Russian action “Cinema Night” will be held in Stanitsa Karghinskaya, in the cinema “Ideal” at the Farmstead of T.A. Karghin. The action is carried out by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation jointly with the “Cinema Foundation” and the portal of the cultural heritage and traditions of Russia “Культура.РФ”.

The action will be dedicated to two films based on the works of M.A. Sholokhov, which anniversaries are marked this year. 60 years ago, the film “The Foal” (1959) was released, and 55 years ago, the film “The Don Tale” (1964) was shown. Both the films were shot at the Lenfilm Film Studio under the direction by V.Fetin and the screenwriter A.Vitol. The residents and guests of Stanitsa Karghinskaya will watch the films, learn about the history of these film works, and answer the quiz questions.

The participants of the action will be able to take a tour of the exhibition “The Magic World of Cinematography” showing among the exhibits a film projector “Magic Lantern” produced by Ernemann (Germany, 1910), they will learn a lot about the history of the stanitsa, the farmstead of T.A. Karghin and about the history of opening the cinema “Ideal”.
