Guests are Welcome to the Cossack Farmstead

On September 8, 2019, the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve invites the guests of the literary and ethnographic festival “Kruzhilin Toloki” to get into the world of household life of the Upper Don Cossacks. 

The guests will take a tour of the Cossack Farmstead of the late XIX – early XX centuries, see farm buildings traditional for the Don farms, household equipment used in every Cossack family a century ago. Anyone can learn about all the intricacies and features of caring for pets, and, dressed in Cossack costumes, milk a cow, feed a poultry and make photos of interesting moments. 

Little guests of the holiday will get unforgettable impressions – they will help the elders in household chores and take wonderful photos with a calf, lambs, goats, rabbits, ducklings and geese as a keepsake. 

Here, at the Cossack Farmstead, everyone can learn more about the herbs that grow in the Don steppe, and take part in the exciting and informative game “Fitomarathon”.
