“Musical Summer in Konstantinovo”

The National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve took part in the annual project “Musical Summer in Konstantinovo” which is devoted this year to Cossack culture. The project culmination was the holiday timed to the birthday of the State S.A.Yesenin Museum-Reserve, which was held on July 27, 2019. 

The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov presented a photo exhibition “At the Quiet, Free and Glorious Don…” devoted to the life of the Don Cossacks at the turn of the XIX–XX centuries. The Cossacks dear to the writer’s heart are shown variously – in everyday life, family, in development of historical events. The paintings by the artists B.V.Shcherbakov and O.G.Vereisky take into the atmosphere of a Cossack village, convey the mood of the cheerful people not broken by a difficult fate. And the household items provide an opportunity to see how Cossack men and women dressed, what household items and tools they used, what equipment was required for a Cossack to go to the military service.

We hope the exhibition will be interesting for the visitors of the Museum-Reserve of S.A.Yesenin – residents of Ryazan and the Ryazan Region, and guests from different parts of Russia and foreign countries.
