Children’s Handicrafts Workshop

Every summer, the Children’s Museum Centre is sounded with a cheerful childish laughter. On these days it becomes a creative workshop, where everyone can make an original souvenir for himself.

The workshop is joined by the children vacationing in the daytime health camps of secondary schools and the Extracurricular Work Centre of the Sholokhov District. Here the children learn about the traditional culture and everyday life of the Don Cossacks. They find interest in working with natural and artificial materials. Some of the craftsmen use plasticine, others - crepe paper. In a few minutes, tulips bloom, butterflies and dragonflies made of plaster, Cossack houses, and horseshoes made of clay and figures of horses made of bast appear in the hands of the young masters. The children enthusiastically make jewelry amulets of woolen yarn. And there is no limit to children’s joy when the work is done accurately and correctly, and the product is elegant and beautiful.

The children’s handicrafts workshop also works in the health centres “Yantar”, “Chaika”, “Orlyonok” of the Kashary, Millerovo and Tarasovsky districts.
