Welcome to the XXI “Sholokhov Readings”

During September 11–13, 2019, the XXI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Modern Studies in the Work of M.A.Sholokhov: Problems, Concepts and Approaches” – traditional “Sholokhov Readings”– will take place in the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.

The Main Subjects of the Conference: 

• Trends and prospects of the study in the biography, literary and public work of M.A.Sholokhov. 
• Modern interpretations of Sholokhov’s works. 
• The world recognition of the work by M.A.Sholokhov. 
• Textological aspect of the study in the literary heritage of M.A.Sholokhov and the experience in scientific commenting. 
• The study of the literary work by M.A.Sholokhov at the university and secondary school. The scientific edition of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” in teaching experience. 
• M.A.Sholokhov: foreign and national literary criticism in the XX–XXI centuries. 
• Cossack insurgency movement during the Civil War and the first years of the Soviet Power in the works by M.A.Sholokhov. 
• Literary heritage of M.A.Sholokhov in the theatre, cinema, fine arts. 
• The work of M.A.Sholokhov in the context of national literature of the XX century. 
• The novel “Virgin Soil Upturned” by M.A.Sholokhov: history and modernity. 
• Museum in the modern world. The 35th anniversary of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. 

We welcome the researchers in the life and work of M.A.Sholokhov to take part in the conference “Sholokhov Readings”.

The conference papers will be published in a book. 

Applications for participation in the conference are accepted till August 15. 2019.
