NewsTalents Sholokhov Believed in25.05.2019A literary artistic and journalistic meeting “Mikhail Sholokhov:”…talents will come!” took place in the Palace of Culture of Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. It became one of the pages of the holiday “Sholokhov Spring-2019”. The program was dedicated to the Year of Theatre and to the work of M.A.Sholokhov staged in the theatre. M.A.Sholokhov is known to have done a lot for organization in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya in the mid-1930s, of the first and the only in the country theatre of Cossack peasant youth. And even earlier, in the 1920s, one can remember a role of young Misha Sholokhov in the topical performances staged in the Karghin Village cinema “Ideal”. All that was spoken about by a group of the Museum actors in the first part of the evening. Besides, they acted out one of the early plays of the would-be writer “Unusual Day”. Sholokhov was right: talents will come! The host of the meeting K.Fedosov underlined the role of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve in the organization of “Sholokhov Spring” and read a greeting telegram of the RF Minister of Culture V.R.Medinsky to the members and guests of the holiday. The Minister noted that during those days the Museum became the centre of ceremonial events in honour of the author of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. Thousands of guests came there and they were all united by a genuine interest in folk art, culture and traditions of the Don Cossacks glorified by Mikhail Sholokhov. “I want to emphasize,– reads the telegram of V.R.Medinsky,– that this large-scale project fulfills a high educational mission, makes significant contribution to the preservation and spreading of the richest historical, cultural and spiritual heritage of our country, brings up in the hearts of young people a sense of pride of the Motherland”. The second part of the meeting was devoted to the performance of the Don and guest ensembles and folk groups. The ensemble “Volnitsa” (the leader A.Venglevsky) began one of his songs with a tape recording of 1968, to hear the song performed by the veterans of Vyoshenskaya. Many of the viewers recognized their voices, and the further performance of the song by the ensemble “Volnitsa” was stormily applauded. The audience warmly applauded to the guest performers from the republics of Mordovia, North Ossetia, Donetsk People’s Republic, the Voronezh and Belgorod regions. The evening, which has become traditional, as always was a good prologue to the main action of “Sholokhov Spring”.
