The Estate of M.A.Sholokhov on “Sholokhov Spring” Days

During the days of the All-Russian literary folklore holiday “Sholokhov Spring-2019”, the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov was traditionally paid great attention by the tourists. On those days it was visited by more than 1500 admirers of the literary talent of the author of the immortal novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. Among them there were guests from Moscow, Belgorod, Voronezh, Pyatigorsk, Rostov-on-Don, the Donetsk People’s Republic, China, Sardinia Island.

This year the honoured guests of the holiday were I.A.Guskov, Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region, A.A.Dmitriyeva, the Rostov Region Minister of Culture. Accompanied by A.M.Sholokhov, the writer’s grandson, Deputy Chairman of the RF State Duma Committee for Culture, President of the ICOM of Russia, and O.A.Anistratenko, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, the guests laid flowers at the tomb of Mikhail Alexandrovich and Mariya Petrovna.

Oleg Adyl-Gireyevich Etlukhov, Member of the Union of Russian Writers, Doctor of Economic Sciences, professor from the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, visited the Estate and presented his books to the Museum.

The guests of “Sholokhov Spring” for the fisrt time saw the exposition “Outbuilding.Summer Kitchen of the Sholokhovs”, which left no one indifferent. The older people were nostalgic, some of them remembered that their grandmothers also had such a kitchen with a Russian stove.

Standing by the tomb of the genius, admiring the fascinating panorama of the Don right bank and hearing the Don nightingales singing many of them confessed to understand where he got his inspiration from and marked that living in such a scenic place one can’t but write.
