The Next Issue of the Journal ”Mir Sholokhova” is Released

Before the 114th anniversary of the writer’s birthday and the traditional All-Russian literary folklore holiday “Sholokhov Spring”, the next, 11th (the first in 2019) issue of the scientific-educational nationwide journal “Mir Sholokhova” was released.

The issue opens with the speech “The Fate of the Writer is the Fate of the Motherland” by A.M.Sholokhov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Culture. In it he expresses his attitude to the two noticeable dates – the 100th anniversary of the Vyoshensky (the Upper Don) rebellion against Decossackization policy, and the 35th anniversary of foundation of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve.

As well, L.P.Razogreyeva devoted her article to the 35th anniversary of the Museum. She entitled it by the heading of the main concept of this cultural institution development – “Open Air Novel”. The article tells about the most important events and stages in the life of the Museum.

The great work of the folklorist I.I.Kravchenko “Sholokhov and Folklore” in the section “Literary Studies” is preceded by the informative article “Folklore and Sholokhov” by N.V.Korniyenko, Doctor of Philological Sciences. The reader will be attracted by the depth of analysis of the question under investigation.

The Doctor of Philological Sciences S.A.Vasilyev in his notes “Can a Horse and a Quivering Doe Be Harnessed in One Cart“?” in the section “Pedagogical Creative Work” compares fragments of the novel “And Quiet Flows the Don” selected by the teachers for training students for the State Examination. Sometimes they turn out to vary considerably, but how?

A number of the works of the fresh journal issue will attract attention of the lovers of Sholokhov’s word.

The farewell words of obituaries are devoted to the memory of our fellow Sholokhov scholars – N.I.Stopchenko, Doctor of Culturology, professor of the South Federal University, Academician of the Peter Academy of Sciences and Arts (S.-Petersburg), G.S.Yermolayev, professor of the Princeton University (the USA), who died this year.

The next issue of the journal “Mir Sholokhova” is being prepared now and will have been released by the end of the current year.
