“Sholokhov Spring” is Opened by “Spring Festival” in Sholokhov-Centre

The festival events of “Sholokhov Spring-2019” begin tomorrow, May 18, International Museum Day, in Sholokhov-Centre (Rostov-on-Don). The residents and guests of Rostov-on-Don are welcome to the “Spring Festival” dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Museum-Reserve. The program will finish on May 25. Admission is free.

During the whole week the museum area of “Sholokhov-Centre” will join different arts. The visitors are offered interesting tours, new workshops, concerts, a fair and food market.

On May 18, an All-Russian cultural action “Night of Museums” will take place here. Next days there will be held conferences and “round tables” for the members to discuss the issues of preservation of culture of the Don country, topical problems of preservation of the cultural heritage sites and architectural monuments, to tell about the modern methods of attracting visitors to the museums.

On May 24, birthday of M.A.Sholokhov, the visitors will be shown a literary interactive program “The Don Public Library is Honoured to Present”. The librarians will tell about the unique books kept in the library funds including editions of the works by M.A.Sholokhov of different years. A talk “Sholokhov in the Modern World” will be given by T.O.Osipova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, a docent of the department for national literature of the Southern Federal University.

The “Spring Festival” will be joined by the Rostov State Musical Theatre, Rostov State Philharmonic Society, Academy of Architecture and Arts of the Southern Federal University, Rostov M.B.Grekov Art School, Rostov College of Culture, and others.
