International Museum Day in Sholokhov Museum

On May 18, International Museum Day, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov holds Open Day and invites to attend the exhibitions in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, Stanitsa Karghinskaya, Kruzhilin Village and Rostov-on-Don. All the Museum structures are free admission.

The Museum visitors will learn about the permanent and temporary exhibitions telling about the life and work of M.A.Sholokhov, about the importance of his spiritual heritage for the world literature, and about history, culture and traditions of the Don Cossacks.

The Museum-Reserve will hold a cultural action “Night of Museums” in Sholokhov-Centre (Rostov-on-Don). It will start at 20.00 to become one of the bright pages of the “Spring Festival”. The guests are welcome to workshops, quests, concerts, a fair and food market in the Museum patio, and to join an animated tour around France in the mansard at 20.00.

The visitors will see an exhibition “France eMotion”, where a special environment is created to combine photo art and augmented reality. Here, each visitor can discover all the riches of the French heritage seeing photos made by young photo artists from foreign countries, who walked by the roads of France with the cameras in their hands. The viewers will see famous museums and modern exhibition centres, ancient fortresses and parks of the castles, will admire roofs of monasteries and arches of the bridges. The photos combined with animation, will erase the line between reality and fantasy, and will show France unseen yet.

A special guest of the “Night of Museums” is Francois Veleskaz, Director of the cultural educational public organization “Alliance Francaise – Rostov Region”. The organization was founded in 2003, it works under the support of the Embassy of France in Russia.
