NewsExhibition of Sholokhov Museum is Opened in “Staraya Sarepta”29.04.2019On April 26, 2019, the Museum-Reserve “Staraya Sarepta” opened an exhibition “I was Born in the Don Country…” from the collection of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. The exhibition tells about the beauty of the Don country, about the work of the great Russian writer of the XX century Mikhail Sholokhov, whose life is inextricably linked with the River Don country. The guests of the opening ceremony were greeted by Alexander Yuryevich Bazhenov, Director of the Museum-Reserve “Staraya Sarepta”, who spoke very warmly about his visit to Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, Yuliya Gennadiyevna Krasnoglazova, chief custodian, and Irina Alexeyevna Koveshnikova, senior researcher of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov. During the first tour guided by Tatyana Leonidovna Zarubina, a worker of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, the guests saw the photos, Sholokhov’s books published in foreign languages, illustrations, learned about the writer’s childhood and youth, about the traditions of the Upper Don Cossacks, the main hero of his world-known novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. Besides, the first visitors saw two documentaries about Sholokhov and Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya. We invite all the lovers for Russian literature to the exhibition which will run until June 9, 2019.
