New Exhibitions are Opened in the People’s House

Today, on April 22, 2019, two new exhibitions started their run in the People’s House. They display authentic interiors of the Memorial House of M.A.Sholokhov. Last week the exhibition “The World of Sholokhov’s Estate” was opened, now the story about the life and work of the writer during the 1950 – 1980s will be added by the exhibitions “Sholokhov. The Nobel Triumph” and “To Dear Mikhail Alexandrovich…”

The first visitors to the exhibition learned about the world significance of the writer and about awarding him the Nobel Prize in literature, they saw a collection of presents showing the great readers’ interest, respect and love for the glorifier of the Russian land.

At the exhibition “Sholokhov.The Nobel Triumph” the viewers “visited” the Nobel ceremonies and felt pride for the author of the world-known novel “And Quiet Flows the Don”. The newsreel footage made by the well-known cameraman and film director Leon Mazrukho shows the moments of awarding Sholokhov the most famous literary prize, his speech containing the words: “I would like my books to help people become better, clearer in soul…”

The exhibition “To Dear Mikhail Alexandrovich…” shows authentic items presented by well-known politicians, workers of culture, delegation of public organizations, readers who knew Sholokhov only by his books. Many of them are unusual, each exhibit has its history and its legend.

The writer’s personal belongings and interior items could be seen earlier in the Memorial House at the Estate of M.A.Sholokhov. Now they are presented in a new format and can be examined in detail.
