Arbor Day in the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov
12.04.2019On April 11, 2019, the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov held a spring Arbor Day. This time the museum workers held a greening campaign in Stanitsa Karghinskaya, on the territory of the Farmstead of T.A.Karghin, which is closely related to the life and work of the writer.
Visiting different parts of our country and foreign countries M.A.Sholokhov always tried to bring different plants to grow them at the estate. Continuing Sholokhov’s traditions the museum workers have been engaged in landscaping for three decades. This time they planted 55 decorative trees and bushes including different kinds of thuja and juniper, Banks’ Pine, Blue Spruce, Weeping Willow and Grapes of Maiden.
Green plants will make the Farmstead of T.A.Karghin, the site for the annual literary and ethnographic holiday “Karghin Fair on Intercession Days”, more attractive for the visitors.
