02.04.2019The Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov invites primary schoolchildren and preschool children to drama classes “Easter Egg is Good for Christ’s Day” dedicated to the Easter holy day. The classes will run during April 15 – May 5, 2019, in the Children Museum Centre.
Easter is “a holiday of all holidays, celebration of all celebrations”. In the Don country this main day for all Orthodox Christians was always waited for impatiently. In old times Cossacks and their families attended the church for the solemn worship service, then they performed round dances, rode homemade swings and played merry games. And everywhere one could hear greetings: “Christ is risen!” – “Truly risen!”
In classes the children will learn about the history and traditions of Easter holiday in the Dom country, paint Easter eggs of plaster, decorate wooden eggs with bright patterns in decoupage technique and will take part in merry egg rolling and beating competitions.
