Exhibition “The World of Sholokhov: Don Cossacks” is Opened in Germany

On March 26, 2019, the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin opened the exhibition “The World of Sholokhov: Don Cossacks” presented by the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov within the international cultural project “Russian Seasons”.

The exhibition opening ceremony was joined by Bruno Malov, Member of the Council of Elders of the Left Party of Germany, Dmitry Dragilyov, Head of the Commonwealth of Russian-Speaking Writers of Germany, Dr.Kristina Yaneke, representative of the historical society “Tradition”.

The audience was greeted by Alexander Avramenko, Deputy Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Federal Republic of Germany, Olga Anistratenko, Director of the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, and Vladimir Salny, a Russian public figure, honorary citizen of the Volgograd Region.

The exhibition will tell the residents and guests of the German capital about the life and work of the great Russian writer Mikhail Sholokhov, about the Don Cossacks – the hero of Sholokhov’s works. The visitors to the exhibition will see books of Sholokhov’s works published in many foreign languages, photos of the writer with his family and well-known persons, illustrations by the famous artists O.Vereisky and Y.Rebrov, newsreel footage, old-time photos from the collection of the Museum-Reserve and objects of culture and life of the Upper Don Cossacks.

The exhibition can be seen in the Russian House of Science and Culture in Berlin until April 3, 2019.
