“As Soon as the Curtain Runs Up…”

This was the name of the interactive museum class dedicated to the World Theatre Day which took place on March 27, 2019, in the exhibition and excursion centre “People’s House”.

The members of the class were the students of the Vyoshensky pedagogical college named after M.A.Sholokhov. They learned about the history of the theatre of different countries and eras, about the specifics of theatrical art and the feature of the actor’s profession.

The practical part aroused a special interest, when the girls tried themselves in the role of actors. They got acquainted with the basics of working on themselves and on the role according to the Stanislavsky system, with different techniques and means of expressiveness, which the actor must be able of, “breathing exercises by Strelnikova”, whose exercises help the actors to work on their voice, took part in the voice and speech training, did special actors’ exercises developing memory, imagination and attention, and performed sketches on remembering physical actions.
