Poetry Day in Sholokhov Museum

21.03.2019

On March 21, 2019, International Poetry Day is marked in Russia, and the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov takes part in the Internet action

M.A.Sholokhov was fond of poetry and knew it very well. He often read aloud for his family poems by Pushkin, Lermontov, Tyutchev, Fet, Bunin, May, Yesenin. Mikhail Alexandrovich appreciated the work of the Georgian poet Nikoloz Baratashvili, with warm emotion he quoted his poem “The Blue Colour”. In 1935, the writer brought from Paris a book of poems by emigrant poet A.P.Shpolyansky (Don Aminado) “Putting on a Raincoat”. Sholokhov knew many poems by this author by heart.

There are many good poems devoted to Sholokhov. And today we can’t but remember the “Requiem” by Anatoly Kalinin:
