Exhibition “The Study and World of the Writer” will Open in “Polotnyany Zavod” Museum-Reserve

28.02.2019

On March 6, 2019, the intermuseum exhibition project “The Study and World of the Writer” under the auspices of the Association of Literary Museums of the Russian Museum Union will begin its run in the Museum-Reserve “Polotnyany Zavod”, a unit of the structure of the Kaluga United Museum Reserve.

The visitors will see the photo works by K.Pashinyan, the RF Honoured Worker of Culture, member of the Union of Journalists and the Union of Designers of Russia, who tried through the interiors of the studies of the great Russian writers and poets to show their life, atmosphere reigning in the house and favouring for the creative work and to feel the connection of the creator with the world surrounding him.

The exhibition project “The Study and World of the Writer” supervised by the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve is joined by the well-known literary museums of the country presenting 20 studies of the writers, who lived and worked in different times – from the XVIII to XX centuries, – from G.R.Derzhavin to M.A.Sholokhov. In the previous year the exhibition was shown in seven museums of our country. This year it has been seen by the visitors of the State Memorial and Natural Museum-Reserve of A.N.Ostrovsky “Shchelykovo”.

During March 6 – April 19, 2019, the photo exhibition will be presented in the Memorial Historical, Architectural and Natural Museum-Reserve “Polotnyany Zavod”, which history is inextricably linked with the name of Natalya Nikolayevna Goncharova, the wife of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. The three-storey manor house of the Goncharovs was one of the biggest in size and the richest in decoration houses among the Russian estates. The poet came here twice – in 1830 and 1834. The first visit of A.S.Pushkin was short, and the second time he stayed in the Goncharovs’ estate for a fortnight. The poet worked in the rich Goncharov library, studied books on the era of Peter I and enjoyed his walks in the park.

After the Museum-Reserve “Polotnyany Zavod” the travelling photo exhibition will be shown to the visitors of the State Museum-Reserve of S.A.Yesenin (Konstantinovo Village the Ryazan Region), the State Lermontov Museum-Reserve “Tarkhany” (the Penza Region), the Voronezh Regional Literary Museum named after I.S.Nikitin, the Samara Literary Memorial Museum named after M.Gorky. The project will finish its run of 2019, in the Don State Public library of Rostov-on-Don.
