Going through the Pages of the Red List of Threatened Species

28.02.2019

On February 27, 2019, the workers of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov made an interactive tour “Going through the Pages of the Red List of Threatened Species of the Rostov Region” for the primary school pupils of the Vyoshenskaya secondary school.

During the event the children learned about the history of the Red List, saw the photos of rare and endangered species of birds, animals and plants inhabiting the territory of the Rostov Region and the Sholokhov District. The children showed a special interest in the information about the eared hedgehog registered in the Red List. They actively shared their stories about different Red List plants, insects and mammals they had seen, talked about the help of people when they are among the beautiful and so fragile natural world.

Doing the presentation quiz the children guessed animals, plants and birds registered in the Red List of Threatened Species of the Rostov Region. Younger pupils were active and erudite participants showing their environmental awareness and watchfulness. At the end of the event, everyone came to the conclusion: “We mustn’t destroy the nature, but must love and protect it!”
