NewsMuseum Classes for Schoolchildren “Hello, Museum!”26.02.2019During January – February, 2019, the museum workers of the Youth Program Department gave visiting museum workshops at the educational institutions of the Sholokhov District. They were attended by nearly four hundred boys and girls of six schools and two kindergartens – in Stanitsa Bazkovskaya, and in the villages of Kruzhilin, Dubrovsky, Kolundayevsky, Kalinovsky and Ternovskoy. The children were offered to choose different workshops. Some children learned how to make felt correctly (“Miracle Felt”), enthusiastically wrote old-time postcards with a metal pen and ink (“Postcards from the Holiday”) or made paper flowers (“Wedding Flower”) the way their Cossack ancestors did. Others using rolling pins made flat clay articles (“Clay Wonders”), at the workshop “Wooden Spoon Painting” the children learned secrets of picturing steppe tulips, painted eggs, worked with paints in “stained glass” technique. During the workshops the schoolchildren joined the Cossack culture and made souvenirs by themselves.
