In Serbia Exhibition was Opened on Sholokhov Memory Day

The opening ceremony of the exhibition “The World of Sholokhov: Don Cossacks” took place in Belgrade on the Memory Day of the writer, February 21, 2019, within the cultural forum “Days of Spiritual Culture of Russia in Serbia”.

At the opening ceremony the floor was taken by Alexander Vasilyevich Chepurin, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Serbia, Vladan Vukosavlevich, Minister of Culture and Information of Serbia, and Patriarch Irenaeus the Serbian.

Olga Sergheyevna Yarilova, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, leader of the Russian delegation, presented the cultural program of the forum “Days of Spiritual Culture”.

Alexander Mikhailovich Sholokhov, the First Deputy Chairman of the RF State Duma Committee for Culture, spoke about the value of civil peace and harmony, about the great mission of culture in the difficult modern life and the inextricable link between the peoples of Russia and Serbia.

The exhibition “The World of Sholokhov: Don Cossacks” was presented to the numerous audience by Olga Alexandrovna Anistratenko, Director of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov, and the museum workers.

The “Days of Spiritual Culture of Russia and Serbia” are held under the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The main event areas are the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Belgrade and the international tourist exhibition “Sajam Turizma”.

Within the work of the Russian sector at the international tourist exhibition “Sajam Turizma”, the workers of the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov took part in the forum on development of pilgrimage and religious tourism, where they presented the cultural tourist itineraries, and in the festival of the Orthodox cuisine.
