Contest of Literary Landscape Design

The National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve jointly with the Russian Union of Writers announces a start of the All-Russian contest for the best literary landscape design based on the works of Russian classic literature.

Students of secondary educational institutions, additional educational institutions, members of the children’s public associations of Russia are invited to join the contest.

The All-Russian Contest of Literary Landscape Design Based on the Works of Russian Classic Literature

The contest is held by the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve jointly with the Russian Union of Writers in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya.

1. Aims of the Contest:

• attraction of children and youth to creative exploration of the riches of literary classics;
• development of imagination and creative activity;
• patriotic education, strengthening friendship relations among children and young people of Russia. 

2. Terms of the contest:

• the contestants are senior secondary students and young people who submit an application for participation in the contest (see in the supplement);
• the contestant is to make and bring a memorial land-art design composition showing a versatility of the personality of one of the well-known writers (poets) of his native country through one of his most famous works; reveal the idea, creative design of the contest work (a talk for 2–3 min.);
• the contest works are not given back to the contestants. 

3. The contest is held during January 9, 2019, – April 24, 2019, (the contest work is to be presented on April, 24, 2019, in Stanitsa Vyoshenskaya, in the Museum-Reserve of M.A.Sholokhov). 

4. Requirements for the works: correspondence to the style of presentation; originality of the idea presented; using a quotation from the writer’s work in the composition. 

5. Evaluation of the contest works: 

The jury consists of the representatives of the Russian Union of Writers, the National M.A.Sholokhov Museum-Reserve. The jury evaluates the contest materials in accordance with the contest requirements and determines the winners and awardees. 

6. Awarding the winners: 

• the winner and awardees of the contest are given diplomas of the I–III degrees and presents;
• the contestants who presented the most interesting works marked by the jury, but not awarded, are given certificates and souvenirs;
• all the contestants are given a contestant certificate, and the work leaders are marked with thanksgiving letters.
